101 Free Family Things to Do!
- Watch the Aloha Festivals Parade Saturday, Sept. 26 in Waikiki. One of two floral parades that occur every year. This popular parade, already 64 years old is a must see.
- While you're there check out the Army Museum at Fort DeRussy.This is one of the least visited museums by Kama'aina. It's air-conditioned and there is a wealth of information regarding Military presence here in Hawai'i.
- This is so obvious - Hit the Beach!
- While you're at the beach - build a sandcastle.
- Did you know Haunauma Bay is completely free at 6am-7am? No charge for parking and entry fee! Also, you pretty much have all the fish to yourself. Also, every 2nd Saturday, this nature preserve is open until 10PM. Get your waterproof flashlights out and witness the natural marine habitat after the sun goes down.
- Don't feel like ocean swimming? Take your keiki to your nearest local community swimming pool.
- Go to Keiki Time, every Tuesday at Pearlridge Mall.
- This event just happened this weekend, but you can catch it every 3rd Sunday, Bank of Hawaii's Family Sunday at the Academy of Arts. Watch for it in our Event Calendar.
- Let's do a military theme: Visit the Arizona Memorial. Tickets are distributed on a first come - first served basis. Visit the museum while you wait for your tour to begin. Watch a very moving movie, then ferry out to the memorial.
- Go to Punchbowl Cemetery and view the beautiful mosaics depicting the war movement of WWII. After entering the crater, drive up to the grand stairs, there is ample parking on the right hand side. The mosaics are all lined up on the top of stairs. Very nice place to say a prayer, send out good thoughts and just take in all the peace and solitude.

- Also, the Wahiawa Botanical Gardens is hosting a Green Hour for Families.
